Books are a secondary means to learn about the environment that we live in. "Secondary" refers to another persons description of our living environment.  Such a description, particularly in a text form suffers loss of information. It is always right to learn through first hand experience, This means that children should put their sensory organs to use, and gain an understanding of the world around them. They should touch, taste, smell, hear and see things around them. Our job is to ensure we are watching them do these carefully and also create environments that can give them suitable experiences.
